Baseball Recap: Woodland Christian Extends Winning Streak to Four

Woodland Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Mesa Verde Mavericks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 on Tuesday.

Kyle Misner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Woodland Christian got a massive performance out of Jeffrey Nannini, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Nannini has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Owen Tessier, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Woodland Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Woodland Christian's record is now 21-6. As for Mesa Verde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-8.
