Basketball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Houston can now relate to. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Choctaw Central Warriors on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hilltoppers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Warriors are ranked third).

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Choctaw Central, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 26-2.

Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Choctaw Central, they will challenge Tishomingo County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Choctaw Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Tishomingo County likes a good challenge.
