Basketball Recap: Rice Memorial Comes Up Short

Rice Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their 37th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks and fell 74-26. While losing is never fun, the Green Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Redhawks are ranked eighth).

Rice Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Champlain Valley Union, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Rice Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-30 loss against Essex on the 24th. As for Champlain Valley Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-39 victory against Bellows Free Academy on the 24th.
