Baseball Recap: Cimarron Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cimarron, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Scott Beavers 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Bluejays: when they faced off against the Beavers on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Colby Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cimarron is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-2 otherwise. Wilson was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Simon, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Cimarron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-2 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Scott, they moved to 7-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Cimarron will be playing at home against Liberal at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Scott, they are taking a road trip to square off against Goodland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
