Preview: Boiling Springs Bubblers vs. Middletown Blue Raiders

The Boiling Springs Bubblers will head out on the road to challenge the Middletown Blue Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Boiling Springs comes in on four and Middletown on six.

Last Friday, Boiling Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Steelton-Highspire, taking the game 50-43. Given Boiling Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Steelton-Highspire is ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boiling Springs relied on the efforts of Brayden Richie, who scored 14 points, and Brandon Ascione, who scored 13 points. Riley Lucido was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Meanwhile, Middletown didn't have too much trouble with Lower Dauphin at home on Thursday as they won 58-43.

Boiling Springs is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Middletown, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Boiling Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Middletown in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 52-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boiling Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
