MaxPreps California Top 25 high school boys basketball rankings: Rancho Christian, Prolific Prep enter Top 10

Two previously nationally ranked teams enter the California Top 10 after big weeks; No. 1 Sierra Canyon wins two lopsided games.

As top-ranked Sierra Canyon continued to roll, a pair of previously nationally-ranked teams moved into this week's Top 10 of the MaxPreps California boys basketball Top 25 rankings.

Rancho Christian and Prolific Prep entered at No. 8 and 9, jumping over No. 10 Mater Dei, which hosted the Nike Extravaganza on Saturday.

There, Rancho Christian won its third game of the week with a 58-55 win over Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.).

Sierra Canyon, ranked No. 16 nationally, had little trouble during the week with wins over Campbell Hall (83-57) and Brentwood School (86-58). There are three more regular season games left for the Trailblazers before the rugged Southern Section playoffs get underway.

Sierra Canyon is the two-time defending CIF Open Division champions.



Second-ranked Centennial had a very busy with five wins, including a 59-51 victory over 17th-ranked Salesian (Richmond) in the Nike Extravaganza.

Etiwanda remained in the No. 3 spot, but the biggest leaper in the Top 10 was Archbishop Mitty (16-3), riding a win over previous No. 10 Bellarmine, jumped from ninth to No. 5 this week.
