Baseball Recap: Estacada Gets the Win

Estacada hadn't done well against Gladstone recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rangers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gladiators, sneaking past 5-3. That's two games straight that the Rangers have won by exactly two runs.

Caleb Showerman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Dane Carpenter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Estacada and bumps their season record up to 9-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Gladstone, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

Estacada will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gladiators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
