Softball Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Cherokee Bluff Bears
Jefferson has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will host the Cherokee Bluff Bears at 6:30 p.m.
Jefferson is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering East Hall just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherokee Bluff). They were the clear victor by an 18-7 margin over West Hall on Monday. With that victory, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Cherokee Bluff got a massive performance out of Kaitlyn Herren, who went 4-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mac Warren, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and a double.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cherokee Bluff kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in August of 2023.
Jefferson now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Cherokee Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
