Nevis waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Verndale Pirates as they made off with a 91-71 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Pirates are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nevis pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 93.0 points over those games. As for Verndale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
