Football Recap: Azle Drops Highest Score of Season Against Brewer

Azle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 63-42 to the Brewer Bears. On the bright side, the 42- point performance marked the Hornets' highest-scoring game to date.

Despite the loss, Azle still got an impressive performance from Derrek Vowell, who threw for 232 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score.

Azle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Brewer, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Azle will face off against rival Birdville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Brewer is set to take on their familiar foe Denton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
