Baseball Game Preview: West Perry Mustangs vs. Biglerville Canners

The West Perry Mustangs will challenge the Biglerville Canners at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. West Perry is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

West Perry fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Northern York on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Biglerville lost 13-7 to Pequea Valley on Wednesday.

Gavin Althoff was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Biglerville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Parker Black, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Biglerville's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for West Perry, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
