Basketball Recap: Juniata Christian Comes Up Short

Juniata Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 66-37 loss at the hands of CHASE. The Eagles lost against CHASE in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 47-41 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Juniata Christian had strong showings from Blake Smith, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds, and Luke Flanders, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Flanders a new career-high in assists (four).

The victory got CHASE back to even at 1-1.

Juniata Christian will head out to face off against Fostoria Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. CHASE will take on Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
