Softball Game Preview: Ohio County Eagles vs. Todd County Central Rebels

The Ohio County Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Todd County Central Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Ohio County nor Todd County Central posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Ohio County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hancock County, sneaking past 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Not much got past Madyson Crowe (2027), who gave up just five hits to keep Hancock County off the board. Crowe (2027) has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ohio County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talynn Clark (2026), who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Todd County Central came up short against Webster County on Saturday, falling 11-1.

Ohio County now has a winning record of 17-16-1. As for Todd County Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Ohio County took their victory against Todd County Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
