Basketball Game Preview: Marvell Academy Eagles vs. Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack

The Marvell Academy Eagles will square off against the Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Back in January, Marvell Academy strolled past Calhoun Academy with points to spare, taking the game 52-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Woodlawn Prep walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 71-43 victory over the Rebels. The Wolfpack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 22 games by 21 points or more this season.

Woodlawn Prep's win came from a few key players Marvell Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cole Sinclair, who went 12 of 20 en route to 27 points and three steals. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least 20 points. Braylon Reed was another key player, going 8 for 17 to rack up 19 points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

The win (which was Woodlawn Prep's tenth in a row) raised their record to 27-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Marvell Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
