Soccer Game Preview: Ballard vs. O'Dea

The Ballard Beavers will square off against the O'Dea Fighting Irish at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Ballard came up short against Bishop Blanchet on Wednesday, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Ballard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Bishop Blanchet are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, O'Dea was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of Garfield by a score of 1-0.

O'Dea's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Ballard, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-2.

Everything went Ballard's way against O'Dea in their previous meeting back in March, as Ballard made off with a 4-1 win. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
