Omar Loya Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Friday, Dexter got the W thanks in part to Omar Loya playing the best football he has all season. Loya rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The victory for Dexter keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Loya and Dexter are on the road again on Friday to play Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m.

While Socorro might've come up empty on Friday, Isaiah Ocampo wasn't going down without a fight. Ocampo turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 177 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes.

Socorro moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Ocampo and Socorro will challenge Cobre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Kaesn George was instrumental in extending Dexter's winning streak to eight on Friday. George was unstoppable, rushing for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.

For the season, George has averaged 79.4 receiving yards per game.

Hatch Valley was led to victory by Orrin Russell, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Russell rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The victory made it two in a row for Hatch Valley and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Russell and Hatch Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

On Thursday, New Mexico Military Institute got the W thanks in part to Cohen Tomasits playing the best football he has all season. Tomasits rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

If the past is any indication, Tomasits could be in store for another big game when he takes on Ruidoso on Thursday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Tomasits saw the Warriors), he rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown.
