Recap: Fernley Vaqueros vs. Churchill County Greenwave
The Fernley Vaqueros can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Churchill County 68-38 at home. The win was nothing new for Fernley as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Anthony Winters continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with eight assists and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheldon Jacobson, who scored 13 points along with two blocks.
Churchill County's loss came despite strong showings from Trevor Hyde and Brady Alves. Hyde scored six points, while Alves scored seven points along with five assists.
Fernley pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.57 points. As for Churchill County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Fernley's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lowry at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Lowry is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Churchill County, they will head out on the road to face off against Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
