Preview: T.W. Andrews Red Raiders vs. North Stanly Comets
The T.W. Andrews Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the North Stanly Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. T.W. Andrews is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
After only seven points in their last match, T.W. Andrews made sure to put some points up on the board against McMichael on Friday. T.W. Andrews blew past McMichael 48-13 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Correy Mcmanus jr. had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Devin Hackstall, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, North Stanly unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 14-7 to Albemarle. Despite 128 more yards than Albemarle, North Stanly couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Chance Blake, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
T.W. Andrews' victory lifted them to 6-4 while North Stanly's defeat dropped them down to 7-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. T.W. Andrews has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Stanly struggles in that department as they've been even better at 231.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
