Soccer Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cuyahoga Heights on Tuesday, Fairview came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Elyria Catholic Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Fairview of the 6-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Fairview now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Elyria Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.

Looking ahead, Fairview will venture away from home to face off against Rootstown at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Elyria Catholic, they will host St. Vincent-St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elyria Catholic will be up against St. Vincent-St. Mary's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.25 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
