Recap: Parkland Matadors vs. Andress Eagles
After a string of three wins, the Parkland Matadors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 58-42 bruising from Andress. While losing is never fun, Parkland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 970th, while Andress is ranked 336th).
Despite the loss, Parkland had strong showings from Jayden Whitt, who scored 9 points, and Roy Ashton III, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lans Alansalon, who scored 6 points.
Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Andress, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Parkland will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Harmony Science Academy at 7:30 p.m. Harmony Science Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Andress, they will challenge DeSoto at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
