The small forward spot is loaded in the Class of 2013.
Top overall prospect
Jabari Parker of
Simeon (Chicago) and two-time California state champion
Aaron Gordon of
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) headline a deep and talented group of wings.
Parker is currently in Lithuania with USA Basketball's under-17 team competing in the FIBA World Championship. He's already won three state titles at Simeon, which will likely enter the 2012-13 season as the nation's No. 1-ranked high school team.
Gordon was California's player of the year as a junior, operating as a point forward for Mitty's back-to-back Division II state championship teams. He piled up 33 points and 20 rebounds against La Costa Canyon in the title game in March.
Jarrell Martin of
Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, La.),
Semi Ojeleye of
Ottawa (Kan.) and
Jermaine Lawrence of
Pope John XXIII (Sparta, N.J.) have all seen their stock rise significantly on the camp and club circuit.
MaxPreps will release updated class rankings for 2013 and 2014 in August, along with a watch list for 2015 prospects.
