Baseball Recap: Two Rivers' Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Two Rivers hadn't done well against Kewaunee recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Purple Raiders had just enough and edged out the Storm 7-6. For the Purple Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 victory the Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

The team relied heavily on Alex Johnson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Chase Rohrer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Two Rivers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

With the win, Two Rivers broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9. As for Kewaunee, they moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Two Rivers will take on Valders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kewaunee, they will face off against Brillion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
