Baseball Game Preview: Antwerp Archers vs. Miller City Wildcats

Antwerp is 0-3 against Miller City since April of 2023 but things could change on Saturday. The Archers will square off against the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. Antwerp has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Antwerp couldn't beat Fairview on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Archers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-4 to the Apaches, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Archers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miller City). They blew past Bluffton 24-1 on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Miller City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Antwerp, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Antwerp suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Miller City in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Archers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
