Basketball Game Preview: Mather Rangers vs. Uplift Titans

Two dominant guards in Adin Smajlovic and Tysean Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mather Rangers will face off against the Uplift Titans at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Uplift took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mather, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Mather narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Chicago Sullivan 62-60. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Meanwhile, Uplift lost to Little Village on the road by a 74-60 margin last Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (58), the Titans still had to take the loss.

Mather will need to focus on slowing down Rodrick Winston, one of several Uplift players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 18 points. Winston's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Jordan Williams was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Mather's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Uplift, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Everything came up roses for Mather against Uplift in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, as the squad secured a 61-26 victory. In that contest, Mather amassed a halftime lead of 38-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
