Hillcrest had won eight straight games and Anthony Carrick did his part to make it nine on Tuesday. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 78-75 victory over the Bluff City Gray Wolves for which the team can thank Carrick, who posted 28 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 15 points.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Bluff City, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Hillcrest will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2026. As for Bluff City, they will be home for the holidays to greet Memphis School of Excellence Winchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
