Basketball Recap: Evelyn Turner Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Academy at the Lakes

Osceola saw some tournament action on Friday. They took down the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats 57-39.

Osceola's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Turner, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Jenezon, who went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Osceola was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.

When it comes to explaining why Academy at the Lakes lost, don't look at Aria Sneary-Beachy. Despite the final result, she earned 18 points. That was a full 46.2% of the Wildcats' points, marking the seventh time in a row Sneary-Beachy has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Siya Shah, who scored 11 points.

Osceola is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Academy at the Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
