Basketball Recap: Niko Sosa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Durant over Plant City + How To Watch

Durant had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it six. They fell just short of the Plant City Raiders by a score of 63-60. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in January.

Durant lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Niko Sosa, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Moore, who went 7-for-9 en route to 18 points and three blocks.

As for Plant City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games.

Akeim Young was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave him a new career-high. Tavare Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Coming up, Durant will take on Strawberry Crest in a tournament on Thursday. As for Plant City, they will be taking part in a tournament against Charlotte at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
