Football Recap: Voorheesville Takes a Loss

Voorheesville extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They took a blow against the Stillwater Warriors, falling 41-0. The Blackbirds lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-9 score last time.

As for Stillwater, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 points in those games.

Stillwater's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Vacula led the charge by rushing for 183 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Vacula's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ryan Brown helped out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Voorheesville will head out to face off against Cambridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stillwater, they will challenge Canajoharie/Fort Plain on Friday.
