Softball Recap: Marysville Getchell Takes a Loss

Marysville Getchell suffered their closest loss since March 18th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Everett Seagulls by a score of 4-2. Marysville Getchell has struggled against Everett recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Elle Glover was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Summer DuBeau was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Marysville Getchell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Everett, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marysville Getchell will take on Marysville-Pilchuck at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Everett, they will venture away from home to square off against Lake Stevens at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Seagulls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
