Basketball Recap: Tupper Lake Comes Up Short

Tupper Lake was the 68-47 winner over Brushton-Moira when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tupper Lake Lumberjacks fell 63-52 to the Brushton-Moira Panthers on Monday. The Lumberjacks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Tupper Lake lost, don't look at Felix Bodeewes. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds. Bodeewes' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Barkley, who posted six points.

Brushton-Moira found their leader in sophomore Carson Fleury, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. Fleury is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Kayden Bushey was another key player, putting up ten points.

Tupper Lake's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Brushton-Moira, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Tupper Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-41 victory against Colton-Pierrepont on the 14th. As for Brushton-Moira, they will challenge Madrid-Waddington at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
