Volleyball Recap: Joplin Takes a Loss

The Joplin Eagles didn't have quite enough to beat the Diamond Wildcats on Monday and fell 3-2. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-21 in the first set.

Joplin wouldn't go down easily and took Diamond into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 15-7.

Joplin dropped their record down to 1-17-1 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Diamond, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Joplin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Republic on the 2nd. As for Diamond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Pierce City on the 30th.
