Baseball Recap: Valley Gets the Win

The Valley Vikings beat the Grant Pacers 7-3 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

The team relied heavily on Giovanni Carmona, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Erick Velasquez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Grant, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Coming up, Valley will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grant, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-2 loss against Antelope on the 20th.
