Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Madisonville walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Silsbee Tigers on Monday, sneaking past 63-60. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on five straight.

Silsbee lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amiya Ulmar, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (eight). Another player making a difference was Jena Warden, who posted 19 points and four steals.

Madisonville pushed their record up to 20-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games. As for Silsbee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-11.

Looking ahead, Madisonville will square off against Hamshire-Fannett at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hamshire-Fannett will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Madisonville surely won't give up without a fight. Silsbee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
