Baseball Game Preview: Lake Braddock Bruins vs. Woodson Cavaliers

The Lake Braddock Bruins will take on the Woodson Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Lake Braddock is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering West Springfield just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 4-1 to the Spartans.

Beau Padgett was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had over his last four games.

On the hitting side, Lake Braddock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Mahns, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Woodson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Potomac.

Lake Braddock's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Woodson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Lake Braddock took their victory against Woodson when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
