Sunlake has no trouble against Steinbrenner

In what's become a running theme this season, the Sunlake Seahawks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Steinbrenner 73-49. The score was close at the half, but Sunlake pulled away in the second half with 41 points.

Nelson Marshall was the offensive standout of the match as he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Manntavius Goodman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Despite the loss, Steinbrenner still got an impressive performance from Justice Momrik, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Doug Jordan, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

The win (which was Sunlake's third in a row) raised their record to 13-7. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.33 points. As for Steinbrenner, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Sunlake and North Tampa Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Tampa Christian Academy is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Sunlake a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Steinbrenner will take on Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
