Softball Recap: South Beloit Wins Going Away Against Harvest Christian Academy

South Beloit won the last time they faced Harvest Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Sobos put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 15-5 victory. With that win, the Sobos brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Whitney Schnack was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, South Beloit let Annabelle Dascher and Taniyah Crawford run wild. Dascher scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Crawford scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three hits gave Dascher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Glidden, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

South Beloit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvest Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .381.

South Beloit's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Harvest Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

South Beloit has already played their next game, an 11-0 win against Christian Liberty on the 12th. As for Harvest Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 22-9 victory against Streamwood on the 12th.
