Preview: Wells Leopards vs. Wendover Wildcats
The Wells Leopards's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wendover Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
Last Thursday, Wells came up short against Pahranagat Valley and fell 44-32.
Meanwhile, Wendover put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Tintic 54-20 on the road. The result was nothing new for Wendover, who have now won six matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Wendover found their leader in underclassman Millie Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Paulina Gomez, who scored 12 points.
Wells bumped their record down to 3-4 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.2 points per game. As for Wendover, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Wells was taken down by Wendover 45-17 in their previous matchup back in February. Can Wells avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
