Basketball Recap: Limestone Comes Up Short

Limestone saw some tournament action on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 65-46 to the Lake Central Indians.

Lake Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayla Krygier, who went 10 for 17 on her way to 24 points and five assists. That's the most points Krygier has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Wimberly, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Limestone's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lake Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Limestone will host Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Limestone has lost three straight at home , while Lincoln has lost three on the road. As for Lake Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-44 defeat against Homestead on the 2nd.
