Cuero had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Friday. They breezed by the La Vernia Bears to the tune of 75-40. The Gobblers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Cuero had a senior duo take command as Arissa Carbonara dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds and Aubrey Bowles dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carbonara has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mauryana Dasilva, who posted seven points.

Cuero smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ali Burton, who scored five points and nine rebounds. Jordyn Brooks was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Cuero's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.3 points. As for La Vernia, they moved to 19-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Cuero does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Vernia, they will head out to challenge John F. Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Vernia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
