Recap: Ridgeland Panthers vs. Southeast Whitfield County Raiders
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coahulla Creek, the Ridgeland Panthers were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They blew past Southeast Whitfield County 86-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ridgeland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Hickman out in front who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Hickman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. John Hill was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds.
Ridgeland's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will face off against Ringgold at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Ringgold is ranked 314th, while Ridgeland is ranked 335th). Southeast Whitfield County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
