Recap: South Garner Titans vs. Cary Imps
There's no place like home for the South Garner Titans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Cary, posting a 60-28 win at home. Given South Garner's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Cary is ranked 416th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tamia Darden continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Breelyn Dean, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
South Garner's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Cary, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Garner will take on Knightdale at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Knightdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday. As for Cary, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Panther Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Cary likes a good challenge.
