Recap: Eastern Warriors vs. Georgetown G-Men
The Eastern Warriors had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 40-36 W over Georgetown on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eastern also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Preston scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Josie Mckibben, who scored nine points.
Eastern's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Georgetown, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Eastern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Batavia at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Batavia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern in Ohio (Batavia is ranked 174th, while Eastern is ranked 545th). As for Georgetown, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Seven Hills at 7:30 p.m.
