Recap: Hurricane Redskins vs. Cabell Midland Knights

The Hurricane Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 58-49 to Cabell Midland. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hurricane of the 54-33 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, Hurricane had strong showings from Alexandra Anderson, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Kendall Anderson, who scored eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Anderson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Rylyn Bielinski, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Hurricane now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Cabell Midland, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Hurricane will head out on the road to square off against Greenbrier East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Hurricane likes a good challenge. As for Cabell Midland, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m.
