Softball Recap: Lyon County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fort Campbell

Lyon County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fort Campbell, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lyons never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Tuesday. The Lyons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lilly Perry made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perry was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Courtney Collins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Brasher, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Lyon County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Campbell struck out eight times.

Lyon County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Fort Campbell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Lyon County will venture away from home to challenge Ballard Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Campbell, they will face off against Fort Knox at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
