Softball Recap: Dr. Phillips Takes a Loss

Dr. Phillips came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-2 to the Apopka Blue Darters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Dr. Phillips saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevaeh Tafuna, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Dr. Phillips' defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Apopka, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dr. Phillips will be taking part in a tournament against Olympia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Apopka, they will take on Horizon in a tournament on Wednesday.
