Basketball Recap: Hooper Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Hooper Academy was riding high fresh off their 54-23 takedown of Macon-East Montgomery Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hooper Academy Colts came up short against the Evangel Christian Academy Lions on Thursday, falling 49-26. The matchup marked the Colts' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Evangel Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Audrey Kate Davis, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Erica Burton, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, nine boards, and ten blocks.

Hooper Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Hooper Academy will face off against Abbeville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they and Edgewood Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
