Football Recap: Smiths Station Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Smiths Station had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Dothan Wolves and fell 48-14. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 48-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Dothan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Aj Alexander continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 249 yards and three TDs while picking up 14.6 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Dothan's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Marcus Reeves also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Smiths Station will square off against rival Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dothan is set to face off against their familiar foe Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 954 yards in their previous games.
