Volleyball Recap: Davis Wins High-Profile Contest Against Farmington

Davis faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Darts blew past the Phoenix 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

While Davis won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 26-24, 25-16.

Chase Valentine paced Davis' offense, picking up 12 kills. Valentine got some help from Jack Bennett and his 16 assists. Finally, Valentine was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Davis' win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Farmington, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davis will venture away from home to take on Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Darts surely won't give up without a fight. As for Farmington, they will head out to square off against Fremont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
