Softball Recap: Walkertown Comes Up Short

Walkertown lost against West Stokes last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Macy Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Savannah Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Walkertown's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for West Stokes, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Walkertown is set to take on their familiar foe McMichael at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, West Stokes will challenge rival Morehead at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
