Softball Game Preview: Carlisle Thundering Herd vs. Lower Dauphin Falcons

The Carlisle Thundering Herd will head out on the road to face off against the Lower Dauphin Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlisle's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lower Dauphin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Red Land hit Carlisle with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thundering Herd fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 7-5. The Thundering Herd's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, while Lower Dauphin put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Palmyra. The Falcons blew past the Cougars 14-0. Considering the Falcons have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Lower Dauphin and bumps their season record up to 11-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Carlisle, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2-1.

Carlisle came up short against Lower Dauphin in their previous matchup on April 8th, falling 4-1. Can the Thundering Herd avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
